What’s an EDA?

The Cambridge Electoral District Association (EDA) is a community-based organization that serves Cambridge, North Dumfries, and North Brant as the official representative of the Federal Conservative Party. The primary objective of an EDA is to provide assistance and advocacy for the party and its candidates within the riding during elections, while also advocating for the party’s platform and policies to the residents of our constituencies.

The committee’s that comprise our EDA include: Membership; Fundraising; Communications; and we will establish an Election Nomination Committee. Together, these committees support the party’s electoral activities in the riding, which include voter registration, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and event planning. During elections, we assist the party’s candidates by providing them with volunteers and resources such as campaign materials, as well as by planning activities to encourage voting.

We also serve as a link between the party and the community. We organize events and activities in the riding to promote the party’s platform, policies, and its local candidates. Additionally, we work to engage with the community and build support for the party in the riding.

We are responsible for recruiting and vetting potential candidates and for organizing the nomination meeting where party members in the riding select the candidate who will represent the party in the next election. Our EDA is dedicated to working hard to ensure that our party’s values and policies are represented in the Cambridge riding and that we elect a Member of Parliament (MP) who will best serve and represent the interests of our community.
